A 460-mile Bikepacking Race through the Black Hills of South Dakota and Wyoming

Much like the CTR, the AZT, and the Tour Divide, the Black Hills Expedition is a self-supported, self-timed ITT (Individual Time Trial) bikepacking race. We provide a route description and GPX file, a suggested start time, and a list of results. There is no registration, no entry fee, and no support.

You are on your own. Enjoy it.

Introducing the Spearfish 280

New for 2023, this route will start at the same time as the Black Hills Expedition. Mile per mile, this route will have less singletrack and more double-track than the BHX (100 miles of singletrack, 140 miles of gravel and 50 miles of blacktop). The GPX track will be posted here by September 1st. Follow along on Instagram at black_hills_bikepack_racing for news and updates.
